Red Hot Chili Peppers - I'm With You

Rating: 3/5 Nothing Spectacular, Just OK.

Year: 2011
Genre: Pop/Rock
Style: Alternative/Pop/Rock, Heavy Rock, Funk Metal
SF Stand out Track: Did I Let You Know
Album's Spotify URL:  Red Hot Chili Peppers – I'm With You
Pants Rating: 35% (% of album tracks that are simply making up the numbers (crap in other words), excluding Intro's and intermissions)

Review/Opinion

First release since Stadium Arcadium in 2006, which was a safe album, nothing particular great about it, but you could listen to it, without anger and disappointment, this is pretty much the same.

Some Good tracks, Look Around, The Adventures of Raindance Maggie, Happiness Loves Company, Did I Let You Know and Goodbye Hooray are all worth a listen.

Saved this album, whether I'll listen again is another question..........

Reverend and the Makers - @reverend_makers

Rating: 2.5/5 Energetic if nothing else

Year: 2012
Genre: Pop/Rock
Style: Alternative/Indie/Rock
SF Stand out Track: Warts n All
Album's Spotify URL:  Reverend And The Makers – @Reverend_Makers
Pants Rating: 50% (% of album tracks that are simply making up the numbers)

Review/Opinion

I did not have high hopes for this album, as I have never been a fan. I listened to this a fair few times, trying to convince myself it was any good. It's not, I just don't like the vocals, music and beats are quite toe tappy.

Won't be listening again.

Nameless - Genetically Modified

Rating: 4/5 Very Good Album

Year: 2009
Genre: Pop/Rock
Style: Alternative/Indie/Rock
SF Stand out Track: My Better Side
Album's Spotify URL:  Nameless – Genetically Modified
Pants Rating: 10 (% of album tracks that are simply making up the numbers, excluding Intro's and intermissions)

Opinion/Review

French Band, and one of ten Artists who are named Nameless (according to Last.fm), which made hard work of finding other material, look at Spotify to see what I mean.

I only came across this album 4/5 months ago, and just presumed it was new, it is actually
from 2009, they do not seemed to have released anything since. The Album has a nice variation of tracks, from the rocky "Genetically modified" to the more mellow "Lost in a Crazy Day", with fast the paced indie track "My Better Side" you have a bit of everything. If I had time there are quite a few Band comparisons/influences you could throw in.

This is highly recommended if you are in to Rock/Indie, it's a great album, and even the french speaking track is pretty good.

The Cool Kids - When Fish Ride Bicycles

Rating: 2.75/5 - Worth a Listen

Year: 2011
Genre: Rap
Style: Alternative Rap
SF Stand out Track: Penny Hardaway
Album's Spotify URL: The Cool Kids – When Fish Ride Bicycles
Pants Rating: 45% (% of album tracks that are simply making up the numbers)

Review/Opinion

The Cool Kids first album was my favourite rap album (the Bake Sale) for some time, it was just different in my opinion. No gangster lyrics, no rims and bling nonsense, they rap both the way I like, it's understandable and their lyrics don't (usually) just contain a mixture of words that rhyme, but don't make any sense.

When I heard they had a new album, I found it on Spotify, and almost deleted it after just the first three tracks, I only kept listening out of respect for their first album.
The album only really livens up via track four "Sour Apples", which is a pretty good track, followed by Penny Hardaway which is a bit of a head bopper. There are a couple of decent tracks later in the album.

This is hardly a classic, however, take the first three tracks of this album and bin them, and you have a half decent album.

I'll delete the poor tracks out the album playlist, and keep the rest.

Alt-J - An Awesome Wave

Review/Opinion

I will keep this short, as I have over 50 albums to catch up on.

I rubbished this album the first time I listened to it, which was 7am on a Thursday morning. I have since seen a few tweeters raving about it, so I decided to give it another go, listening on a Sunday evening at 10pm, it seems a completely different album. It's an easy listen, one to stick on whilst sitting down to relax.

I like the music, but the lead singers voice does occasionally begin to grate on me.

I have not looked up any background information on this band, and probably won't. I will however, give this a few more listens, just to see if it is a grower.
